The co-creator of Call of Duty, the mind behind the wildly popular first-person shooter Call of Duty, has died in a traffic collision in Los Angeles, California aged 55.
Zampella's death was announced by Electronic Arts, the publisher that controls Respawn Entertainment, the development studio which he helped establish.
The renowned industry figure died after his car crashed and burst into flames on a motorway in Los Angeles on Sunday morning, as reported by.
"This is an unimaginable loss, and our hearts are with Vince's family, those closest to him, and everyone impacted by his creative vision," a spokesperson for Electronic Arts commented.
